Tile Lands (2022)

Tile Lands is a 2023 tile building game created by Shiba Dog Studios. The player recieves a deck of tiles that are used to build an environment and score point. If the player scores enough points, the level up and recieve new tiles. If the player runs out of tiles before levelling up, the player loses and must start again. There are a multiude of tiles including, farms, lakes, meadows, towns and more.

For this project I undertook the role of sound designer and audio programmer using FMOD to implament the audio into the game.
The audio editing was conducted using Reaper and the implamentation was done using FMOD's C# API.
When given the specifications and direction the game was going in, I decided to make an early start on gathering SFX and ambience for the game, to do this, I made an asset list to aid in me organising my workflow

After being given the premise of the game, I knew immediately I wanted the ambience and SFX to be very laid back and ethereal. One such example is the level up sound. I wanted to create a sense of calm, but positivity. So I incorporated a synth sound that used a major scale as well as bird stingers layered on top to compliment the peaceful nature of the game.
